This month’s edition comes from America’s west coast, where XLR8R was first born, because it’s helmed by Culprit, the Los Angeles label curated by Andriy Osyka. Founded in 2009, Culprit is forged around the famed rooftop parties thrown by the founding trio of Osyka, Justin Sloe, and Brett Griffin, together known as Droog, and it has since become an outlet for all shades and shapes of deeper dance music. For this package of music, Osyka has chosen Lorenzo Dada, one of Culprit’s core artists, plus two upcoming names in Galen and Robotek Reagan, who as one half of Dance Spirit has been working with Culprit since 2012.
Opening the edition is Galen with “Hi-Lo,” one of several new tracks he’s set to release over the coming months, inspired by his ‘Sunset Sound System’ events, before Lorenzo Dada steps up as Tears of Blue, his acoustic electronic ensemble that fuses neo-classical and ambient with electronics. He’s delivered a studio version of “Opera Zero,” a special live track originally recorded before a concert in Rome last Spring. To close, we’ve gone with Robotek Reagan and a masterfully produced piece of IDM that he finished after moving back to Los Angeles from Tahoe, where he’s been living for the last few years.
Robotek Reagan also created this month's cover art.
All the money raised from new subscribers to this edition will be donated to support the people of Ukraine, as will the artist fees, more specifically to Razom. Culprit label founder Osyka is Ukrainian and has family currently living there, so this has personal meaning to Culprit. If you would like more information on that, please email operations@xlr8r.com.
Thanks, as usual, for your continued support.
The XLR8R Team.

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
Delightfully manic dance music from British producer Patrick Tipler where worked-up rhythms collide with high-intensity synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 4, 2021
UK producer Morwell contrasts euphoric footwork with dissonant, dread-laden techno in a highly texturized tug-of-war. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 7, 2021
Gently drifting techno where every element is soft focus and rippling around the edges, save for the sharp, crackling rhythms. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2020

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
